Hi, I'm Hernán Galileo Backend Engineer · Data Engineer · GIS Developer
I build systems that handle scale — from fintech microservices to geospatial pipelines for urban analysis. Currently at Stori and completing a Master's in Urban Planning at UNAM.
Two areas of expertise
I work at the intersection of distributed systems and geospatial intelligence.
Technology Professional
Senior backend and data engineering experience building production systems in fintech and enterprise environments. Specialized in Go, Python, cloud-native architectures, and data pipelines at scale.

Featured Work
Apimetro
REST API that ingests, models, and serves structured geospatial data for Mexico City's public transit network — Metro, Metrobús, Cablebús, and Tren Ligero. Built as a research tool for the UNAM Urban Planning Master's, analyzing CDMX transit infrastructure with spatial queries and GeoJSON outputs.
Transaction API — Backend Challenge
End-to-end Go REST API built as a technical challenge: a migration service that ingests transaction records from CSV into a database, and a balance service that computes user summaries on demand. Fully Dockerized and deployed to Fly.io.
VFT Model — Urban Transit Analytical Engine
Geospatial and topological analytical engine for evaluating ring-shaped and feeder transit networks in Mexico City. Built on a pragmatic hexagonal architecture: FastAPI endpoints, GeoPandas + NetworkX + Momepy for graph computation, and async clients consuming the Apimetro Go API. Powers the quantitative analysis of the TAICMAM thesis at UNAM.
